LED line indicating unit

This optical indicating system helps drivers of vehicles to identify their traffic lane more easily, especially under poor visibility conditions, and at key points such as tunnels or dangerous bends.  The system is easy to install and can be positioned on the road surface or the pavement or traffic island, such as the New Jersey type for example.  It is particularly effective during the change from day to night or when light levels change suddenly.  The upper part of the indicator is made of special synthetic material, and houses the prismatic lenses, in order to be able to optimise the angle at which the light is emitted, in relation to the road surface, according to circumstances.
The system is controlled by an electronic control unit, that is able to manage the light level and flashing frequency, as well as being equipped with a malfunction warning.

All functions are fully managed and controlled by an electronic control unit that is able to provide the client with various switching on options, and the light level and flashing frequency can be regulated.  The control unit can be completely remote controlled, so that it can be connected to an outside interface device (PLC). It also has a self-diagnosis function for the system, so that it can indicate any system malfunctions.

This new lit indicating device was designed and engineered according to the new demands of the highway code, and combines two usage solutions in a single item.
In fact, this device can be used to demarcate lanes and to light up emergency exit routes.  Its primary purpose is to indicate the lane limits, helping drivers of vehicles to identify their traffic lane more easily, especially under poor visibility conditions, and at key points such as tunnels or dangerous bends. Its secondary purpose it to light up exit routes for emergency situations, guaranteeing a minimum lighting level.   The system is easy to install and can be positioned on the road surface or the pavement or traffic island, such as the New Jersey type for example. It is particularly effective during the change from day to night or when light levels change suddenly. The upper part of the indicator is made of special synthetic material, and houses the prismatic lenses, in order to be able to optimise the angle at which the light is emitted, in relation to the road surface, according to circumstances.

Vertical lit signage

THE LIT SIGNAGE PROPOSED IS ESSENTIALLY MADE UP OF A DIFFUSER BODY, WHICH ALLOWS THE LIGHT PRODUCED BY A LIGHT SOURCE TO FILTER OUT SIDEWAYS.
The light is emitted out of the diffuser body and filter via a screen to which a special reflective film is applied, that is both reflective and transparent.
High efficiency white LEDs are used as a LIGHT SOURCE.  This source guarantees operating continuity and resistance over time that is far greater that (neon or dichroic lamps) used to date to make lit signage.  Its minimum bulk also makes it possible to make lit signs with very small sides, that are similar to those of traditional, non-lit signs.  Thanks to the particular technical solution used, the sign’s thickness is extremely small (5 cm max).
The use of white LEDs as a light source also makes it possible to make lit signs of irregular shape, such as circular and triangular, while maintaining the characteristics of low bulk indicated before.
In addition to being transparent, the reflective film used also allows the sign to be back-lit, which ensure a reflective index that is equal to or higher than class 2 films currently used.  The film is applied to a polycarbonate screen.
This material was chosen due to its light weight, shatterproof quality, complete transparency and structural strength.

THE METAL SUPPORT for the sign is made of aluminium, to ensure maximum resistance to corrosion and the protection level of the signs is IP65 certified, to guarantee that they work under even the most difficult ambient conditions.
The end result is therefore a sign with dimensions comparable to those of a traditional non-lit sign, emitting highly uniform light levels over the entire surface, which always makes identification clear.

One particular application for the technology explained above, is creating a sequence of modular indication signs at bends.
The sequence is made up of a series of highly luminous modular indicators, piloted by an electronic control unit that makes it possible to vary the sequence speed and to select sequential or intermittent functioning.
This system provides maximum flexibility, and the parameters set can be changed even locally, once the plant has been installed, to allow adaptation to various uses.

New indications for safety in tunnels

In addition to the signage called for by the Highway Code, we are able to provide all the safety components required by the new European standards, for traffic in tunnels.
In particular, we are able to supply new composite danger signs (general danger + accident + hazardous goods) and the related cabinets, from which their functioning is controlled, and the new signage to indicate distances from exits.

THE CABINETS ARE DIVIDED INTO THREE MAIN ZONES, THAT IS:
1. A zone made up of two protected and separated alarm buttons for faults or accidents involving vehicles, which are not transporting hazardous goods, or for breakdown or accidents of vehicles transporting hazardous goods.  Pressing one of these two buttons switches on the relevant danger sign panels, located inside and at the entrances to the tunnel.
2. Zone that contains two emergency extinguishers, protected by the relevant glass to be broken.
3. Zone that contains an intercom, with a call button to contact the outside intercom control unit.
Breaking the break glass for the extinguisher, opening the door for the intercom, and pressing one of the two buttons, generates an alarm that can be both local and remote, at an operations centre.

The intercom system is made up of devices specifically designed for industrial use, and has a series of internal posts located in the cabinets and an external control post.  The external post can be used to:  1) Call an internal post directly. 2) Dynamically manage the call queue. 3) Make a general call to all the internal posts.  The internal post devices operate very simply, and they have a button that can be used to send a call to the outside control post, and a LED that indicates when the communication has been activated. An outside communication loudspeaker can be added as an optional extra.  This solution makes it possible to communicate throughout the entire tunnel and, in the case of a general call, to provide indications along the entire length of the tunnel itself.  The external intercom point can be “replicated” at a remote workstation, to allow communications and alarms to be managed by an operations centre.

Internal lit emergency signage

We are able to use the technology used for vertical signage for internal emergency signage as well.
The devices made are designed for permanent and non-permanent use, and have a specific battery to allow them to work when the 220V mains supply is out.  The homogeneity of the lighting ensures perfect visibility, while the use of white LEDs makes it possible to minimise changing of light sources.
